Malmö, Sweden / Vienna, Austria – November 3rd, 2026: Ten. That’s how many nominations REANIMAL received for The Horror Game Awards 2026, and we’re still a little speechless. Tarsier Studios’ horror adventure about two siblings on a very dark island is up for Game of the Year, Best Art Direction, Best Soundtrack and seven more awards.

3. Players' Choice Award – The most popular horror game of 2026 as entirely nominated and voted for by the public
4. Critics' Choice Award – The best horror game of 2026 as chosen by our critics’ jury
5. Scariest Game of the Year – The game that provided the most singularly terrifying experience of the past year
6. Best Cosy Horror – The best horror game which focuses on cosy, spooky vibes rather than pulse-pounding terror
7. Best New Multiplayer Horror Game – The best multiplayer horror experience from the current year
8. Technical Achievement Award – The 2026 horror release that represents the best innovation in gameplay or technology in the field
9. Best Art Direction – The best art direction in a horror game
10. Best Soundtrack – The best original soundtrack in a horror game
11. Best Narrative – The best story experience in a horror game

For us, the answer is clear: REANIMAL should win every single one of them. Sadly, that’s not our call. It’s partly yours, though: public voting is open until November 11th, and in most categories it decides which games the juries get to pick from. These nominations follow REANIMAL’s nomination for Best Indie Game at the Golden Joystick Awards 2026, where the winners will be announced on November 11th. That’s also the day public voting for The Horror Game Awards closes, so it’s going to be a big day for us either way.
