The latest The Guild – Europa 1410 dev blog takes a closer look at how dynasties are built, expanded, and secured. Because while wealth, political influence, and successful businesses may bring prestige, it’s your family that ensures your legacy survives long after your character’s time comes to an end.

The new dev blog explores how courtship and marriage work in the upcoming medieval life and strategy simulation. Potential partners can be impressed through gifts or charming conversation, allowing relationships to develop and eventually lead to marriage. Choosing the right spouse can bring important advantages: from wealth and status to valuable traits that may strengthen your future bloodline.

Once married, the next generation may soon follow. Spending time with your spouse increases the chances of having children, while asking them to assist with daily business matters may reduce that likelihood (obviously). When children are born, players can interact with them and influence how they develop.

Eventually, every dynasty leader must pass the torch. Once a child reaches the age of 15, they can be named heir and inherit your titles, businesses, and wealth when the time comes. Considering the many dangers of medieval life, however, it may be wise to secure more than just one successor.

Players can keep track of their growing lineage through the family tree and see exactly how their dynasty grows across generations.
